Meath Festival of Cultures 2008

Heart of Africa participated in the Meath Festival of Cultures on Saturday, 26th July 2008 at Claremont Stadium, Navan. The event was a wonderful success with almost 3,000 participants and spectators turning out to enjoy the day and the beautiful sunshine.

Heart of Africa was delighted to be involved in this vibrant, multicultural event and the Heart of Africa team were on hand providing tasty samples of all Heart of Africa Dried Fruit and Nuts to those present. In addition to providing information to the crowds regarding Heart of Africa, we also erected a stand inviting all those present to purchase products from the Heart of Africa range including Heart of Africa Tea, Fresh Ground Coffee, Dried Tropical Pineapple, Dried Tropical Mango, Dried Tropical Banana and Macadamia Nuts at special festival prices.

Former Irish international and Irish soccer legend Paul McGrath opened the Festival. Visiting the Heart of Africa stand, Paul sampled our delicious products, spending time with the Heart of Africa team and learning how all profits from the Heart of Africa range go directly back to the communities they came from, creating more jobs and a better life for local people. Mayor of Navan, Padraig Fitzsimons also visited the Heart of Africa stand, enjoying our samples of dried fruit and nuts, while learning about the Heart of Africa initiative.

Further adding to the festival atmosphere, LMFM were on hand with an outside broadcast. Featuring both live and pre-recorded interviews with the Heart of Africa team on the Saturday Sports Show and the Daire Nelson Show, LMFM, in association with Heart of Africa, also offered one lucky listener the opportunity to win a family hamper packed with Heart of Africa goodies. The winner was announced on Monday, 4th August – Mr.  Joe Conlon, Fairgreen, Athboy, Co. Meath. Congratulations Joe!
