Africa Day 2008
May 25th is Africa Day, the official day of the African Union. It is an opportunity to celebrate African diversity and success.
Heart of Africa was delighted to take part in Irish Aid’s Africa Day celebrations at Dublin Castle on May 25th, 2008. Our Heart of Africa team were on hand to provide tasty nibbles to the crowd, and to explain why buying Heart of Africa products empowers communities in Africa, as well as being ethically sourced and naturally good.
With over 8,000 people attending it was a great day out with performances by Afö, Mundy, The Republic of Loose, the Discovery Gospel Choir, Kanda Bongo Man and many others adding to the festival feeling. Traidlinks and Heart of Africa provided tea, coffee and fruit, as well as offering two family hampers for winners of the Africa Day Quiz.
Heart of Africa is proud to have been a part of this celebration of African culture – the events in Dublin castle and elsewhere around the country were a huge success.
